Not So Homemade Chili

 

Not so homemade Chili and Cornbread

I use Carroll Shelby's Chili mix, you choose how hot you want it!
1 lb. of ground chuck
1 cup chopped Onion
1 cup of chopped red, green and or yellow bell peppers
1 15 oz. can kidney beans
1 15 oz. can black beans
1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 8 oz can tomatoes sauce

Brown beef, onions and peppers, in a cast iron skillet, I use my grandmother's cast iron Dutch oven, or any deep pan will do.  Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beans and chili mix.  Add water as directed on packet and let simmer.  I used the Marie Calendars cornbread mix, fresh butter and honey.

Serve with a smile!
