Should you ignore your cravings?

There are times when giving in to a craving is a good idea.  You should have a small portion and just get it over with. When you really want something, like chocolate, you can eat everything but that and end up consuming more calories then if you just ate the chocolate. Just, give in, eat a little to satisfy the craving and then move on.

Changing involves knowing how and then wanting to.  It is important to see that learning is different from doing.   To improve and work on new behaviors you must learn.  Motivation may be just as important as the learning process, when you think about what you want to achieve in your life.  In a very basic view of weight loss, we know in order to lose weight, you simply don’t eat.  Where things get muddled, is knowing you have to eat in order to survive.  So it is about the choices you make when you do eat that are going to make a difference in achieving a weight loss goal....

Turkey Burgers
Light, Low Fat and Healthy Recipe

Burgers:
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar
1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1/4 cup finely chopped yellow pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon curry
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg, beaten

Make the Burgers: Mix all the ingredients together with your hands, except the oil, in a bowl.

Broil the burgers in the oven about 4 minutes on each side.  Check the temperature of the thickest burger for doneness.  It should read at least 165 degrees F.
